Boat lifts have been in existence for many years, particularly in the USA, but for some unknown reason are slow to take on in England. There are many benefits of having a boat lift, some of which are:
- Saves the need for frequent antifouling, painting or cleaning the hull
- Keeps the boat clean of barnacles and marine growth
- Once docked in the lift, no more fenders are needed and no more banging or rubbing other boats
- Whilst in the berth there is improved security which should be reflected in insurance premiums
- No more bilge pumps needed
- Increases the value of the boat when selling if it has been stored on a boat lift
- If the boat lift is on your own land it increases the value of the house and land
- Fuel consumption and speed will be increased with a clean hull, and there is vastly improved speed on launching and docking
- The boat can be boarded whilst still on the lift
The boat lift can usually be placed where the boat is normally moored and takes up very little more room than a moored boat.
The boat lift can be manually or remotely controlled - mooring or launching takes a matter of minutes.
The cost of a boat lift can be recovered after only a few years by means of the savings achieved in fuel costs and maintenance, and a boat that has been stored would expect to sell at a higher value.
We can provide a timber walk-around to the lift to your own design which enables easy access and facilitates any servicing required.
Jetties and Pontoons
There is no specific specification for a jetty or pontoon as they are produced to the customer's requirements. Some can be straight jetties - for instance to get you out to deeper water, or they may contain a large pontoon area - it would be built to suit your own needs.
The jetties are constructed by driving in wooden piles and decking with a non-slip treated timber surface.
