| Forma Pile is a restoration method which saves timber piles from having to be replaced, thus saving trees and the environment. Our treatment is custom designed for timber piles that have been attacked by the Limnoria organism which is capable of moving in and around the piles and severely eroding them. The organism attacks from the outside and burrows into the pile parallel to the grain where there are frequent openings to the water for circulation, and the end result is a pile with significant cross-sectional loss. Forma Pile was designed for use on timber piles to prevent further damage to those already suffering from marine borer activity. When installed the failure rate using Forma Pile is zero and it is proven to make pile strength greater than when new. Forma Pile is a saviour for those boathouse piles that have eroded over a period of time and can now be given a new lease of life with our patented system extending it up to a further 25 years - indeed the post is stronger with our treated system than in its original state.
